LOS ANGELES -- Aeromexico Flight 18 aborted take-off from Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday morning because of two blown tires.

Airport officials initially reported mechanical failures at about 6:30 a.m. for the Boeing 737 plane bound for Mexico. All 129 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated. A runway was temporarily closed until the aircraft could be taken to a remote gate for inspection and maintenance.

Passengers were expected to be booked on the airline's four flights later in the day, LAX officials said. No flights have been delayed.
