Alleged kidnap victim found safe in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- A woman who was reportedly kidnapped for ransom in Vallejo has apparently turned up in her hometown of Huntington Beach.

The father of Denise Huskins told ABC News that she called him from their home in Huntington Beach Wednesday morning, saying she was OK.

Huntington Beach police notified Vallejo police that the woman was located at an undisclosed location.

Officers were seen at a home in Huntington Beach, but no one was home. Neighbors said the woman's mother lives at the home.

Crime scene investigators say at this point, they are treating everything as a crime scene.

Vallejo police say Huskins' boyfriend reported an abduction on Monday, saying she was forcibly taken against her will from her Mare Island home, and a ransom had been made.

He called police several hours after she disappeared, but it was unclear why it took him so long to report the crime.

A massive search was launched to find Huskins. Officers interviewed the boyfriend, 30-year-old Aaron Quinn, but he was not considered a suspect or a person of interest.

Huskins' car, which police believed was taken during the alleged abduction, was found in Vallejo.
