FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WLS) -- Police in Fort Wayne, Indiana, said two children reported missing in an Amber Alert Monday have been found dead.

Liliana Hernandez, 7, and Rene Pasztor, 6, were last seen at 6:21 a.m. Eastern Time in Fort Wayne. The Allen County Sheriff's Office said it was believed the children were likely abducted by their non-custodial mother, 29-year-old Amber Pasztor.

Police said an officer was leaving the police station when he was stopped by Pasztor around 5:25 p.m., who was driving with the two victims in the backseat of her car. They were already dead, police said.

Pasztor was taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder, according to ABC affiliate WBND in South Bend, Ind., and booked into the Elkhart County Correctional Facility. Police continue to investigate.
