Armed robber targets businesses on NW Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are searching for a man who robbed three businesses on Chicago's North West Side in the past week.

In each incident, the suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun and announced the robbery. The offender then ordered the employees to open the cash register and took cash before leaving, police said.

Two robberies happened in the 6400-block of West Diversey Pkwy on June 24 and 26, both around 4:30 a.m., police said. Another robbery happened in the 3100-block of North Milwaukee Avenue on June 29 at 3:30 a.m.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect.
