AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- Mother Nature has put a dent in the Christmas plans for the city of Aurora.

The western suburb was set to light its Christmas tree on Sunday night, but high winds knocked down and damaged the tree. It had been donated by an Aurora family.

City officials said they are not sure if they'll get a new tree.

Fireworks for the Winter Lights Holiday Festival were also canceled because of the winds.
