BARRINGTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Police have charged Larry Lotz, 65, in the murder of his wife, who was found in a Barrington home.

Authorities say Karen Lotz died from "significant injuries."

Police found the 59-year-old woman around 12:42 a.m. Friday in the home, located in the 400-block of N. Cook Street. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.

The Chicago Tribune reports that an argument over a coffee maker may have led to the shooting. Lotz appeared in court Friday, where his bond was set at $3-million.

Police say there is no threat to the public and no additional suspects are being investigated.
