Chicago police issued a community alert after surveillance video captured a white man with black hair, age 35 to 55, using a pry tool to force his way into the South Side businesses, police said.

The burglaries occurred Sept. 4, Oct. 13 and Nov. 2 between the 10400-block and 10600 block of South Western Avenue, police said. The burglaries occurred around midnight.

The offender wore gloves while emptying cash registers and searching the property for cash.

In addition to being a white man between ages 35 and 55, the offender is described as being about 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
