Body recovered from Lake Michigan

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago Police Marine Unit recovered a body from Lake Michigan about 7 miles east of Montrose Beach.

Authorities received a report of a stranded boat just before 5:45 a.m. Friday. The responding unit found a badly decomposed, male body floating in the water.

Officers transported the body to marine headquarters around 6:35 a.m. It will be transferred to the morgue.

Police have not released any further information.
