CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police say a 12-year-old boy was shot and suffered a graze wound to his left leg on Chicago's Near West Side Wednesday night.

Police say the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in the 200-block of South Western Avenue. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

Police say two offenders in a red SUV fired multiple shots in the direction of a restaurant, which the victim was inside of.

"I heard so many shots. It was like bop, bop ,bop, bop, bop. And I was like, man, let me go see if anyone got shot. And I got over to the restaurant, he was in the restaurant sitting down crying," said Sandra Coakley, who witnessed the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing. Neighbors say the boy lives in the neighborhood. He is not believed to have been the intended target.
