Grandparents Murdered
Grandparents are murdered, authorities say teenager is person of interest.

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Texas -- Two people were killed and a 14-year-old boy is the center of an investigation after an apparent double-murder in Chambers County.

Teenager questioned in the murder of elderly couple in Beach City, Jessica Willey reports.

When deputies arrived to the home, located in the 11000-block of Cedar Gulley Road, they found two adult victims dead from suspected gunshot wounds. They were identified as Sandra and Chester Bienek.

Investigators believe the teen is the grandson of the Bienek's. He is being considered a person of interest in the case.

When the teen didn't show up for school Tuesday, officials from the school called home. The teen told school officials that something happened at the home, said Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.

"One of the principals had been talking to the student and the student stated there possibly might be someone injured at the residence," Hawthorne said.

The victims, in their early 70s, were shot in their bed, possibly while they were sleeping. There was no sign of forced entry and no motive. Hawthorne added deputies had not been called to the home before for violence involving the teen.

"Beach City, we like being remote. That's what we pride ourselves on. ery close-knit community and most people live here because of the lack of crime. It's shocking," said Mayor Billy Combs.

The teen -- an 8th grader in Barbers Hill ISD -- is being questioned by investigators.
