Boy reunited with mother carjacked outside day care
A 6-year-old boy is back safe with his mother after she was carjacked while dropping off his 1-year-old sister at a day care.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- A 6-year-old boy is back safe with his mother after a frightening ordeal in Arkansas Tuesday morning.

Police say just before 7 a.m., Caterrica Brown was dropping off her 1-year-old daughter at a day care center in Pine Bluff. As she was returning to her car, police say a man came up behind her and asked her for a ride. When she refused, police say the man pulled her out of the car and began to drive off with her 6-year-old son still inside.

KATV reports Brown told police she grabbed onto the car and the suspect to try to get him to stop. She was struck and dragged by the vehicle and she finally had to let go after suffering an arm injury.

An alert citizen saw the suspect abandon the car at the Broadmoor Arms Apartments at 7th & Wisconsin, approximately 20 blocks from where the carjacking took place. The citizen felt the man had stolen the vehicle, so he followed him and called 911.

The little boy was found unharmed at a nearby school bus stop, where he ran to join a group of other children. The suspect was also located in the area.

Marvin Reeves, 42, was arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping, and 2nd degree battery. He has been booked in the Jefferson County jail.

Brown's purse and its contents were also located.
