BURR RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- There is now new information on a lake that mysteriously drained near homes in the southwest suburbs.

A photo shows the lake in Burr Ridge, Ill. full of water just days ago and within a few hours it was gone.

Homeowners say the drained lake created a bad smell.

On Friday, Burr Ridge park district officials said a broken dam needs to be fixed. A temporary sand wall is in place to keep the lake partially filled with water until repairs can be made. An air pump has also been installed to help keep the fish alive.
