STAMFORD, Conn. -- Police in Stamford, Conn., are searching for a heartless criminal who stole the birthday money from a man with autism.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Veterans' Park and was caught on surveillance video.
The suspect walked up to and began a conversation with the victim, who showed the man all the money he had received for his birthday.
The suspect then took the money and appeared to taunt the victim, waving the cash in his face before pretending to it in his pants.
He then hugs the victim and walks away.
The victim did not realize the money wasn't put back in his pocket until it was too late.
Anyone with information is asked to call police immediately.
