NORRIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Charges have been filed against an accused gunman who opened fire at a suburban mall. Prosecutors have charged Everett Harris, 31, with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery on a public way, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and one count of aggravated driving while license revoked.

Police say Harris took his ex-girlfriend's two children without permission on Thursday. He then drove to the Harlem Irving Plaza Mall in Norridge.

The children's mother and her cousin followed Harris and were reportedly shot several times after confronting him.
