CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago man is recovering after getting assaulted at Sunday's Pride Parade.

Michael Rakow says he was yelling "Happy Pride" and giving people hugs when a man told him he wasn't into that and punched him.

The suspect was wearing brass knuckles and caused lacerations to the 21-year-old's head and face.

"Ended up unconscious, knocked out on the floor, ended up going to the hospital with 14 stitches in my head," Rakow said.

Rakow filed a police report, but so far no one is in custody.

Police say there is no indication this is a hate crime.
