CHICAGO (WLS) -- Organizers of Chicago's Pride Parade are beefing up security by hiring 90 extra off-duty police officers to help keep the peace.
An estimated 1 million people attended last summer's event, drawing hundreds of police citations and damaging a police vehicle.
Along with the extra security, this year's parade in Boystown will include zero-tolerance for alcohol and a limit on the size of parade entries.
Police also plan to step up patrols in the evening after the parade on June 28.
