Child left in hot car dies
The 3-year-old was inside the family's vehicle while they were in an afternoon service.

DALLAS -- A toddler who was left in a hot SUV while his family was inside a north Texas church has died, reports KTVT-TV in Dallas.

According to witnesses, the 3-year-old boy was discovered missing during the part of the service when the children would leave the kids' room and come out to the main room. It was then that the boy's parents noticed that the child wasn't with his four siblings.

They began searching everywhere for the child and eventually found him in the family's SUV in the parking lot. The child was carried inside by his father.

"He looked like bad," said church member Reng Om. "He was grabbing his kid, and the kid would not move, and said, 'I need somebody help, call the police.'"

An investigation is ongoing; police have released few details.

Om was attending the afternoon service when he says it came time for the children to leave the kids' room where they were having bible study and join the adults.

"Every kid comes out to the main service room, and they would read the Bible and sing, and they would go back into that room," he said.
