City kicks off $4.8M modernization project in Chatham

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A struggling South Side neighborhood is getting a much-needed makeover.

The City is kicking off a $4.8 million modernization project n Cottage Grove in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood. The plan includes new energy efficient streetlights, sidewalk repair and landscaping.

It will take about a year to complete.
