CHICAGO (WLS) -- Gerald L. Gaddy, a volunteer track and field coach at CPS' Simeon Career Academy High School, has been charged in connection with alleged incidents of inappropriate sexual contact with two female teenagers, police said.

The incidents, which allegedly involved two girls ages 16 and 17, happened at various times between Jan.1 and June 25 in the 8100-block of S. Vincennes Avenue, police said.

Gaddy, 42, is not a Board of Education employee, but has been barred from CPS activities, school officials said.

"A volunteer track and field coach at Simeon Career Academy High School has been barred from CPS activities while the district continues its investigation into allegations of misconduct," said CPS Spokesman Joel Hood.

Gaddy was arrested at 6:35 a.m. on July 22 and faces three felony charges including aggravated criminal sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court on Wednesday.
