CRESTWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- The village board in south suburban Crestwood will vote Thursday on a settlement with the state over accusations of tainted drinking water.
Crestwood would pay a $50,000 fine to settle claims that polluted well water was used by residents for about 20 years.
The village's water department supervisor was convicted last year of lying about secretly mixing contaminated water with water from Lake Michigan.
Crestwood still faces dozens of lawsuits from residents.
