CROWN POINT, Ind. (WLS) -- A northwest Indiana man involved in the murder of a United Airlines flight attendant was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Decarol Deloney-Cain was killed back in 2014. Her body was found in the trunk of her car in a wooded area in Gary. She had been stabbed, beaten, bound and her head put in a pillowcase before her body was wrapped in plastic, police said.

Her daughter Alyssa is already serving a 50-year prison sentence in connection with the murder.

Alyssa's boyfriend Damarius McGriggs was sentenced to prison for his role in the murder on Monday. He will have to serve at least 75 percent of the sentence.
