The United Arab Emirates' interior minister said on Thursday that police arrested a female suspect in the stabbing death of US schoolteacher Ibolya Ryan. Ryan's gruesome killing left a trail of blood in the restroom of an Abu Dhabi mall. Dramatic footage was released by authorities showing a night-time police raid on a house where the suspect in question was found and taken away in handcuffs.

"The victim of this brutal crime was a schoolteacher who was committed to building strong future generations," Interior Minister Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan told reporters.

The suspect, a woman in her 30s, wore a burqa and allegedly stabbed Ryan following an altercation in a mall restroom on Reem Island on Monday. The suspect is also believed to have left a makeshift bomb outside the house of a 46-year-old Egyptian-American doctor in the Corniche area just an hour after the stabbing attack.
