ELMHURST, Ill. (WLS) -- Several members of a family were found dead Saturday in a home in western suburban Elmhurst Saturday evening.

Police said they conducted a well-being check at the home on Chatham Avenue just before 7 p.m. Inside, they found the bodies of 82-year-olds Joan and Francis Stack, as well as those of their adult children, Francis, Jr., 48, and Mary, 57.

Police said all four had been shot, and officers recovered a weapon at the scene.

They believe this may have been a domestic incident and say the community is not in danger.

"There's no harm to others, the community is not in danger at this time," said Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth. "The incident is under investigation by the detective section of the Elmhurst Police Department."
