EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Plastic shopping bags will be banned from large stores in Evanston starting August 1.

The city council approved the ordinance Monday that will prohibit plastic bags in stores larger than 10,000 square feet.

In all, it will affect 27 stores in Evanston. Restaurants, including fast food, and non-chain stores are exempt.

The following Evanston stores will be impacted by the ordinance:
