CHICAGO (WLS) -- Family and friends gathered Friday afternoon to remember a Chicago firefighter who died after a hit-and-run crash.

Lorenzo Douglas, 43, was off-duty when he was hit by a mini-van in Rogers Park last month. He worked at Engine 103 on the Near West Side.

Visitation for Douglas began at 3 p.m. at Smith Corcoran-Chapel, 6150 N. Cicero Ave, Chicago.

The funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith-Corcoran.
