Fire Department reminds to change smoke detector batteries

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Fire Department is reminding people to change smoke detector batteries.

October is National Fire Prevention Month. Monday, the fire department teamed up with Home Depot and Energizer to talk about fire safety.

The event also provided a fun environment for families and individuals to learn how to take simple steps to protect their loved ones.
