BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- An overnight fire heavily damaged a house in southwest suburban Bolingbrook, officials said.
The blaze started around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the garage of a home on Churchill Drive, officials said.
Neighbors, who called 911, say the owner operates a daycare out of the home during the week.
"I didn't know where she went, because all I saw was flames and the car was exploding too," said Jajzmin Aldana, a neighbor.
"My daughter was just screaming, '911, 911!' and I was like, 'Why?'" said Theresa Cruz, a neighbor. "I thought we had a fire in our garage, and then she's like, 'No, there's a fire,' and I looked outside and she called 911, but she was so panicky that I took the phone from them and called them."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
