American Airlines flight to Chicago diverted by possible bomb threat

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A flight from Virginia to Chicago was diverted because of a possible bomb threat.

The American Airlines plane took off from Charlottesville when it had to turn back around. The aircraft landed safely.

The Transportation Security Administration and other federal investigators are looking into the incident.
