CHICAGO (WLS) -- A fundraiser to help the family of Shamiya Adams, the 11-year-old girl fatally struck by a stray bullet at a sleepover, will be held in Ukrainian Village.

Adams was playing inside a home in the West Garfield Park neighborhood with six other girls last Friday night when a stray bullet came through a bedroom window and struck her in the head.

Friends and co-workers of Adams' mother, Shaneetha Goodloe, organized the event. The fundraiser will be held at Fatso's Last Stand in the 2200-block of West Chicago Avenue from 3-6 p.m. Thursday.

Proceeds will help Adams' family with funeral expenses.

The restaurant's manager said customers can purchase a hot dog, fries, chips and a soda for $3, and the money will go straight to Adams' family during the designated three-hour period. Donations can also be made directly to the family.

Chicago police are questioning a person of interest in Shamiya Adams' murder. No one is in custody.
