Funeral to be held for Lombard teen who died on vacation

LOMBARD, Ill. (WLS) -- Family and friends are gathering for the funeral of Lija Hyssong, a Lombard teen who died mysteriously while on vacation.

Hyssong, 16, was on a week-long church trip in Pennsylvania last week when she suddenly became ill. An autopsy was inconclusive, so her parents are waiting on more tests.

Hyssong was a cheerleader at Glenbard East High School.

Her funeral is being held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard.
