Girl, 5, shot inside Englewood home near 59th, Peoria

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 5-year-old girl was shot in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood on Wednesday night, authorities said.

Chicago police said the shooting took place inside a home in the 5900-block of S. Peoria.

She was taken in good condition to Comer Children's Hospital.

Police sources said they recovered a weapon from the home.

Area South Detectives continue to investigate.
