Hiring event set for Joliet

South suburban jobseekers may be able to find employment opportunities at a hiring event in Joliet later this month.

State Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) announced the event will be held Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1080, 2625 Ingalls Ave, Joliet, Ill. The Illinois Department of Employment Security will partner with Senator Bertino-Tarrant for this free event. A veterans' preview will be held from 10-11 a.m.

Jobseekers who register in advance will have the opportunity to have their skills matched with prospective employers. Illinois Department of Employment Security professionals will be available on-site.

Jobseekers are encouraged to register ahead of time for the event at http://bit.ly/1wRGQfj. Event participants will be able to quickly access of job opportunities in the south suburbs, have their skills matched to interested employers and even partake in on-site interviews, Bertino'Tarrant's office said in a news release.
