Indiana woman grabs camera before telling husband she's won $1M

SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (WLS) -- Melynda Refkin was surprised when she discovered she won $1 million - but she made sure to grab a camera before telling her husband, Joseph, who was equally as shocked.

"I rushed to grab a camera before telling my husband. I wanted to catch the expression on his face when I told him the news!" Refkin said.

Refkin was at her Shererville, Ind., home when she scratched off the winning Illinois Lottery Cash Spectacular ticket Thursday. She said she plans to save the money for retirement.

The ticket was purchased at United Liquors at 21579 Lincoln Highway in Lynwood, Ill., officials said.
