Timothy Herring is accused of killing a Chicago police officer and former CHA officer because he didn't want to go back to prison on a parole violation.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A judge has decided to sequester a Cook County jury after seven hours of deliberations in the trial of man accused of killing a Chicago police officer and a former housing authority officer.

Prosecutors say Timothy Herring shot and killed Michael Flisk and Stephen Peters in November 2010.

Deliberations will resume Wednesday at 10 a.m.
