Kane County morgue closed by mold

GENEVA, Ill. (WLS) -- The Kane County Morgue in Geneva is temporarily closed because of mold.

The coroner said due to potential health and safety concerns all activities have been transferred to the DuPage County Morgue in Wheaton.

Kane County says families and funeral homes will be notified of the temporary location, and information will also be available on the Kane County website.

Autopsies and related investigations will continue under the direction of this office.
