Kids hide in closet, call 911 during burglary
Three siblings were forced to hide in a closet as a group of suspects burglarized their Mission Bend home.

HOUSTON -- The quick thinking of three siblings helped deputies arrest three burglars who broke into their Texas home, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said.

A 16-year-old girl, her 13-year-old sister and six-year-old brother were inside the home in the 8200 block of Elmsford Court in Houston, Wednesday morning and heard the burglars break in. The teen told deputies she and her siblings hid in a closet and called 911.

Sheriff's deputies arrived and caught two suspects at the house. A man ran off, but deputies found him nearby with the help of a K9 officer and a sheriff's office helicopter.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspects were identified as Houston residents Christine Thomas, 31; Bernard Renfro, 27; and Shalinda Montgomery.

Deputies say they found a TV, computers and other items allegedly stolen from the house inside the suspects' vehicle. Renfro was reportedly wearing a Mickey Mouse watch taken from the home.

All three suspects face charges of burglary of a habitation and were scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
