Severe Weather Leaves 2 Injured in Kansas

Two people were critically injured in Kansas Tuesday evening after severe weather swept through the Plains, according to The Associated Press.

In a statement issued by the Kansas Adjutant General's Office, the two injured people were taken to a hospital in Dodge City. It also said that the storms affected the western and south-central parts of the state.

About 26 tornadoes were reported Tuesday in five different states spanning from Michigan to Texas.

More than a dozen touched down in Kansas and several more hit Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.

Most of the reported damage so far was just north of Dodge City, Kansas, where a strong tornado appeared to have damaged six homes, according to ABC News meteorologist Max Golembo.

Minor damage was reported in Bristow, Oklahoma. Meanwhile, in the same state, there was reportedly wind damage near the town of Shamrock, along with injuries.

There also appeared to be damage in Yuma and Washington counties in eastern Colorado, with power lines and homes affected in those areas.

Trees and power lines were also affected in Marquette County, Michigan.
