CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tydeon Woodland, 21, was charged in two armed robberies at separate convenience stores in the Loop.
Police said Woodland allegedly entered a store in the 500-block of West Lake Street around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 17 and a store in the 100-block of South Clark Street around 4:15 a.m. on Oct. 23 armed with a knife. He demanded cash from store employees before getting away, police said.
Woodland was arrested near the CTA Blue Line Pulaski-Forest Park station. He was held by CTA security after they recognized him from a surveillance photo of one of the robberies. He was later identified through line-ups.
Woodland, of the 7100-block of South Harvard Avenue, was charged with two counts of armed robbery. He is due in bond court on Thursday.
