EAST CHICAGO, Ind. (WLS) -- A 28-year-old man accused of breaking into several vehicles at the East Chicago South Shore train station was arrested Thursday.

Fifteen vehicles in the station's parking lot in the 5600-block of Indianapolis Boulevard were burglarized over the past two days.

The man cut himself during one of the break-ins on Wednesday. Police said swabs of his blood were collected for DNA comparison.

The suspect, who is from East Chicago, was taken into custody after officers caught him trying to sell some of the stolen property out of the trunk of his car near 138th Street and Euclid Avenue.

Charges are pending.
