EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Devin A. Strong, 36, has been charged in connection with an alleged armed robbery attempt at an Evanston barber shop, police said.

Police were called to Supreme Image barber shop around 10 a.m. Friday in the 1600-block of Emerson Street where a subject wearing a mask and gloves was allegedly trying to enter the shop, police said. The subject allegedly fled on foot prior to police arrival, but was found changing clothes in the 1400-block of Church Street after police released a description, officials said.

Police allegedly found a glove on the subject, which led them to a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and mask matching the description from the robbery attempt.

Strong is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
