BEACH PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured a 16-year-old boy Saturday in the northern suburbs.

Connor Dixon was riding his skateboard near Sheridan and Chaney Saturday night in Beach Park when he was struck by a red 2008 Kia Sedona going around 45 miles per hour that didn't stop.

Another driver pulled over to help the boy, though that vehicle was then hit by another vehicle, police said. No one was injured in the second crash.

Although Dixon was conscious and talking after the crash, he was still airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where his injuries are listed as non-life-threatening.

Epifanio Moya turned himself in to authorities around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, failure to report an injury accident and driving with a suspended license.
