Man pulled from SUV in water dies
A 59-year-old man died after he was pulled from an SUV half submerged in water on Chicago's South Side, police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 59-year-old man died after he was pulled from an SUV half submerged in water on Chicago's South Side, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle in the water at Jackson Park Outer Harbor in the 6500-block of South Promontory Drive around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The man was rushed in critical condition to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died. Authorities have not released his identity.

Fire officials said he was the only person in the SUV. Investigators are looking into what caused the man lose control of his vehicle.
