Man grabbed boy at West Lawn playground during recess

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A boy was pulled off playground equipment by a man he didn't know during recess in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood, police said.

The man entered the playground in the 6400-block of South Tripp Avenue and grabbed the student during the school day on Thursday. When he was confronted, police said he grabbed another student and hugged her. He became confrontational with staff members and fled south on Tripp Avenue.

Witnesses told police they have seen the man at the park several times and is regularly in the area.

He is described as a man between 50 and 60 years old with a light complexion, gray hair and a mustache. He is about 6' tall and weighs about 200 lbs. He was wearing glasses at the time.
