FAIR OAKS, Ind. (WLS) -- A Rensselaer man is in serious condition after an accident with a wrong-way driver on I-65 in northern Indiana, police said.

Brian Bohlke, 42, was driving a 1999 Mercury southbound on I-65 near Fair Oaks Farms around 11:31 p.m. Saturday when he encountered a 2009 Mercedes traveling the wrong way, police said. Luis Aminto Alicea, 55, was allegedly driving northbound in the southbound lanes when his vehicle hit Bohlke's head-on, police said.

Both Bohlke and Alicea were hospitalized, with Bohlke suffering from serious internal injuries. His two children, who were also in the car, were hospitalized as a precaution.

Alicea faces charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, while Bohlke faces a charge for possession of marijuana, police said.
