Man shot by Crystal Lake police faces criminal charges

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man shot by police in northwest suburban Crystal Lake on Monday now faces criminal charges.

Police say they responded to a call that a man was beating a woman on Monday. Joseph Laudicina, 29, was shot when police say he charged at them with a knife.

Laudicina remains hospitalized and faces felony charges of home invasion, vehicular invasion and aggravated domestic battery.
