CHICAGO (WLS) -- Friends of our late colleague Anne Swaney gathered Saturday evening to share memories of a woman who lived a short, but adventurous life.

They spoke about her travels, her loyalty and her laugh at an event at the Motel Bar in Chicago

Swaney, who was the executive producer of the ABC7 website, was murdered in January while on vacation in Belize.

Friends also had a chance to support a foundation created in memory of Swaney, who was an animal lover. The Anne Elizabeth McComb Swaney Foundation will bring animal-assisted therapy to special needs children and adults.

The day Anne's body was found in the Mopan River in western Belize, human scent evidence dogs found only one trail from the wooden deck to the river. The murder remains unsolved.
