Metra BNSF train strikes, kills man in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was fatally struck by an inbound Metra BNSF train Tuesday morning in west suburban Naperville, police said.

The inbound BNSF train struck a pedestrian in front of the station in the 100 block of East Fourth Avenue at 10:35 a.m., according to Metra and Naperville police.

The man, whose age was not immediately available, was dead at the scene. Witnesses say he was seen standing on the Naperville platform.

The incident is not expected to cause any issues for Monday afternoon's rush.
