CHICAGO RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Metra Southwest Service trains were delayed between Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn on Wednesday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a freight train near Chicago Ridge.

Metra service has returned to normal in the area.

Metra says the accident occurred away from the Chicago Ridge station and that the pedestrian was hit by a freight train, not a Metra train.
