Metra Electric trains resume after South Side platform fire

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Trains are moving again on the Metra Electric Line after a fire at the South Side 47th Street station platform around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The south portion of the platform was damaged by the fire, but passengers will be able to access trains on the north end.

Metra siad it does not believe the damage would affect the afternoon rush.
