Missing mother, 2 children from North Center found safe

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said a mother and her two young children who went missing from Chicago's North Center neighborhood on Thursday were found safe in New Buffalo, Michigan on Friday morning.

An alert went out on Thursday night after investigators believed the mother may have taken the children, possibly out of the state.

Tirzah Fujii, 37, and her children 7-year-old Malakai Fujii and 1-year-old Soriah Fujii were found safe, but did not provide more details.

Police said Tirzah had recently been acting erratic and confused, and is estranged from her family.
